Is Golmaal 5 Coming? The Short Answer
Yes. After months of speculation, Rohit Shetty confirmed the film on September 19, 2026, by sharing a motion poster on Instagram with Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, and the rest of the gang. In a follow-up post, he announced that the film will arrive in cinemas on January 8, 2027.
Golmaal 5 Release Date What Is Confirmed
The film is set to open on January 8, 2027, almost ten years after Golmaal Again reached theaters on October 20, 2017. Earlier reports had pointed to a December 2026 release, but those were denied before the official date was announced. The film is produced by Rohit Shetty Picturez in association with T-Series.
Dates in India can differ from other countries, and release plans can still change, so check official posts from Rohit Shetty and T-Series closer to the time.
The Cast of Golmaal 5
Here is the lineup the makers have shown so far:
- Ajay Devgn as Gopal, returning to the role that started it all
- Arshad Warsi
- Tusshar Kapoor
- Shreyas Talpade
- Kunal Kemmu
- Sharman Joshi
- Akshay Kumar, joining the franchise for the first time
This is the cast of Golmaal 5 that has been publicly confirmed, and it brings the original ensemble together again after a long gap. The makers have not shared the full list, so more names may follow.
Golmaal 5 Star Cast What the Reunion Means
The motion poster shows the six leads riding one bike through a green hill-town setting, which is a fun way to say the whole gang is back. The star cast of this franchise has always worked because of its running jokes: the rivalry between Devgn and Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor’s famous “Ae ah oh” gag, and the chaotic friendship among the rest. Reports suggest the new film may give the chemistry between Shreyas Talpade, Kunal Kemmu, and Sharman Joshi a fresh twist, but that is still reporting and not an official detail.
Akshay Kumar Joins the Gang
The biggest new name is Akshay Kumar. Rohit Shetty announced his addition in March, and Republic reports that he will play the villain. The studio has not confirmed his exact role in detail, so treat the villain claim as a report for now. Still, it adds a big new name to the cast of Golmaal 5, and it puts two of Bollywood’s biggest comedy stars in one film.
Golmaal 5 Actress Who Is the Female Lead?
The makers have not announced any actress or actresses so far, and that is one of the biggest open questions around the film. The franchise has a history of changing its female leads. Kareena Kapoor Khan is the only actress who has appeared in two films, playing Ajay Devgn’s love interest in Golmaal 2 and Golmaal 3. Golmaal Again brought in Tabu and Parineeti Chopra, who also made her first film with Shetty. Until the makers say otherwise, any name you see online is a guess.
What Is the Story About?
There is no official synopsis yet. A report from earlier this year claimed the script explores an idea that has never been used in the franchise, but the makers have not confirmed what that idea is. Shetty’s own announcement described the film as being about laughter, fun, joy, happiness, and family, which suggests a lighthearted comedy and not a dark twist. At Ultimate Fandom, we suggest waiting for the first trailer before trusting any plot theory, since fan-made stories spread quickly online.
Is There a Trailer Yet?
We could not find an official trailer at the time of writing. All that has been released is the motion poster with the franchise’s whistle tune. Films like this usually release first footage a few months before opening day, so a trailer in the coming months would be normal, but that is only our guess. We will update this guide on Ultimate Fandom when real footage arrives.
Who Is Not Confirmed?
Fans are also asking whether familiar faces from earlier films will come back, such as Tabu, Parineeti Chopra, or Kareena Kapoor Khan. None of them have been announced, and the names above are the only official cast of Golmaal 5 right now. Be careful with fan-made posters and unverified lists, which often add names that have never been confirmed.
What Fans Hope to See
These are fan hopes, not confirmed details:
- The classic gang chemistry: the same jokes and rivalry that made the first films famous.
- A strong villain turn: a memorable performance if the Akshay Kumar report is true.
- A fresh story idea: something different from the horror-comedy mood of Golmaal Again.
- Good music: a soundtrack that matches the franchise’s high-energy style.
Final Verdict
Golmaal 5 has everything a comedy sequel needs to get attention: a confirmed date, the original gang, a new big-name addition, and a director who knows how to make crowd-pleasers. Many details are still hidden, including the story, the female lead, and the first trailer. With the full Golmaal 5 star cast finally reuniting, At Ultimate Fandom we are curious and cautiously optimistic about how the gang’s return will turn out.
