Fans waited roughly three years after season 3 wrapped in 2023, so the ted lasso season 4 release date carried real weight. Hannah Waddingham hinted at an August window during a February interview, and Apple’s final date matched her hunch. The season opened with an episode titled “Home,” followed by one new episode every week, which gave the story room to build instead of arriving all at once. That weekly format also kept the conversation alive for ten straight weeks.
The first teaser arrived on April 28, 2026, and Apple announced the ted lasso season 4 release date alongside it. Apple CEO Tim Cook helped share the news. The footage shows Ted returning to England to coach a second-division women’s team under the AFC Richmond banner, with the show’s signature mix of humor and heart fully intact. Fans can still rewatch the ted lasso season 4 trailer on Apple TV’s official YouTube channel.
Much of the original ensemble returned. Jason Sudeikis leads as Ted, joined by Hannah Waddingham as Rebecca, Juno Temple as Keeley, Brett Goldstein as Roy, and Brendan Hunt as Coach Beard, who also writes and executive produces. Newer names matter too. Tanya Reynolds plays Alice Chilton, Grant Feely takes over the role of Henry from Gus Turner, and Annette Badland and Tracey Ullman also appear. Viewers browsing the ted lasso cast season 4 lineup will notice that the women’s team storyline puts fresh characters front and center.
Apple TV renewed the series on March 14, 2025, after years of the creative team saying the story felt complete. Sudeikis stars and executive produces alongside Brendan Hunt, Joe Kelly, Jane Becker, Jamie Lee, and Bill Wrubel, while Emmy winner Jack Burditt joined as an executive producer under a new overall deal with Apple TV. Apple confirmed a summer 2026 window while filming was still underway, which shows real confidence in the project. Sudeikis has also said the team has a three-season arc in mind for the Lady Greyhounds, so this ted lasso season 4 production reads like the start of a new chapter rather than an epilogue.
At its core, the season follows Ted as he coaches AFC Richmond’s women’s team, nicknamed the Lady Greyhounds. The idea was planted at the end of season 3, when Keeley pitched a women’s side to Rebecca. The story balances football setbacks with off-field pressure, including finances, family duties, and personal growth.
Spoiler warning: in the finale, Ted hands the women’s team manager job to Alice Chilton and takes an assistant role beside Beard. The episode also debuts a stripped-back acoustic version of the theme song performed by Brandi Carlile, and the final match draws a packed stadium. At the latest check, Apple TV has not announced an official season 5 renewal. Brendan Hunt has said the finale intentionally left questions rather than traditional cliffhangers, and reports suggest conversations about the show’s future are ongoing. Sudeikis’s three-season arc points to more story, but any season 5 date is speculation until Apple confirms it. Some outlets estimate a return no earlier than 2027 or 2028. We will track every one of the ted lasso season 4 updates at Ultimate Fandom as new announcements arrive.
